Wrecked

Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wrecked by Priscilla West was a 5 star read for me. Everything about this book was good. It's the first installment of Lorrie and Hunter. The ending is a cliff hanger.

Two years ago Lorrie's mother was murdered by her husband, Lorrie's stepdad. After a downward spiral of depression, Lorrie's father commits suicide. Returning to college after taking three semesters off, Lorrie just wants to get through the semester in one piece.

Lorrie meets Hunter when he saves her from a near death experience. Hunter is a cage fighter who is just as broken as Lorrie. They forge an unlikely friendship without sharing anything about their pasts. As their friendship grows, they become inseparable and finally begin dating. Can they be together when they both have troubled pasts?

I loved this book. Lorrie and Hunter take their friendship slow. Some people may say it took too long for their relationship to grow, but it is just the right amount of relationship building for me. The suspense of when they were gonna start a relationship kept me on the edge of my seat. Lorrie hid her feelings about Hunter for as long as she could. She even tried denying her feelings for him. But in the end she realizes her true feelings. The characters are likable and well developed.

Wrecked is the perfect title for this book. More than one thing is wrecked and as the story progresses we see the characters' true lives and feelings. Lorrie and Hunter's lives are wrecked until they find each other. Then they help each other grow and come to terms with the reality in their lives.

Recommended for anyone over the age of 16 who loves romance.
